The Portland Water Bureau will ask for a 5 1/2 year delay to complete expensive reservoir projects mandated by federal authorities.
On Wednesday, the Portland City Council voted unanimously to seek the delay over concerns from water ratepayers who urged an even longer extension.
Portland officials will ask the Oregon Health Authority — which has decision-making authority granted by the Environmental Protection Agency — to approve a new timeline to finish work by June 30, 2026.
