A group of people met at the Airline Snack Bar last week to voice their concerns about Cianbro’s proposed East-West Corridor project, and how it would affect their region of unorganized territories. “I’m here because of the wilderness. If I wanted the highway, I’d have stayed in New Jersey,” one attendee stated. most introduced themselves as avid outdoors people; hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing. Many admitted to being transplants, hailing from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Florida, and more exotic places like Hancock County. They had moved to the region, or maintained camps here for the pristine beauty.
